I need to have adobe on my mac for school projects

I can't open some files I need ,because I do not have adobe on my computer.When I try to download it will not accept it as an application

iMac 21.5″, macOS 13.1

Here's an article from Adobe support about installing Acrobat Reader on a Mac: Install Adobe Acrobat Reader on Mac OS. Be sure the download is for a macOS and not another operating system such as Windows.
