I have a new (to me) Macbook Pro. I always use Adobe
Indesign and Photoshop CC. My new laptop will not open these programmes but goes directly to Indesign25 and Photoshop25. does this replace CC?

The current versions of Indesign & Photoshop are v26. Technically, they are compatible with Monterey, but with some limitations. Adobe recommends at least Sonoma for v26. It also depends on the exact model MBP that you have (hardware requirements) ... it would help if you tell us what model you have as well as the exact version of Monterey.
Indesign25 and Photoshop25 are CC apps, just the previous releases.

I would verify your third party app is up to date and compatible—
if in doubt search the developers website or contact their: Support/Help/FAQ/Known issues/compatibility/updates…
