Turning off Mirror Front Camera has no effect

I am running an iPhone 14 Pro Max and iOS 17.0.3. When I change the “Mirror Front Camera” setting off in the Camera settings, there is no effect. I have tried quitting all apps, restarting, and no matter what I do, the front Camera still shows my image mirrored and type is backwards.

This question has been asked multiple times and hundreds of people have said they have the same problem for OS release after OS release.

Please fix this!!
