imessage v Messenger

A friend with an msn.com address sent me an imessage. This message did not appear on my Iphone 14 pro max. However when I logged into my Apple Mac desktop computer, I saw his message on the Mac in the normal Messages app. Also when I looked at all the messages on here it had all my other Messages as well as the one from my friend who had sent it as an i message. But my iphone 14 pro max had all the same messages EXCEPT the one sent by i message. I dont understand? Can anyone explain this?

Hi there Gloucester13,

If you are not receiving messages from a certain contact on only one device, the 'If you receive messages on one device but not the other' and 'If you still need help' sections of this article can help resolve what's happening: If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone or iPad

If this continues after looking over that, please provide more details on if this occurs only with this one contact or with multiple contacts. That will allow us to isolate what's happening further.

Cheers!

Hello Gloucester13,

Thanks for reaching out again. We'd recommend going through the steps sent above, and let us know if the issue remains.

We'd also like to clarify that the Apple Messages app is not associated with FaceBook or Messenger, as these are third-party apps. If you're referring to the Messenger app, you'll need to contact the app developer.
