Took delivery of a brand new pair of AirPod Pro 2nd gen that I purchased through the Apple Store app. I had the case personalised. They connect fine but I cannot turn on ‘Find My’ in the settings as iOS thinks they have another owner.
Packaging was intact and I have AppleCare.

I unboxed them and followed the instructions, but when I try to turn on Find My, it says the previous owner can track my AirPods. The Apple ID lock appears to be irreversible by anyone other than the previous Apple ID. This should not happen with a product supplied by Apple Store
Thanks for the reply. When I tried to turn on Find My, I got a warning dialogue that the owner could track the AirPods, but today everything is as it should be. It looks like it was a glitch. Find My is working and my AirPods are showing on of my Devices.

It all came good when I disconnected my Beats Studio Buds+
Interesting. I wonder if that's related ... perhaps.
I think it is. My hubby was keen to take over the Studio Buds +. So I removed them from my devices and the issues disappeared. Worth remembering for anyone reporting a similar thing.
