Has anyone had issues with iCal not being searchable since the new MacOS Sonoma update?

Has anyone had issues with iCal not being searchable since the new MacOS Sonoma update? I'm all up-to-date. I can search iCal on my iphone 14Pro, but my iCal doesn't pick up all of the events I search any longer. All of my calendars are selected. I haven't changed anything since I've upgraded. It just stopped searching properly after the upgrade.

I have a MacBookPro 2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 and I'm up-to-date on everything. Thank you.

I contacted Apple support, and they suggested the following : (a) disable the iCloud calendar and re-enable (b) as I had a Google calendar sync'd, disable/enable that calendar as well. With that, this issue got resolved immediately.

Hello MerrilyAlice,

If the search function on your device is not working, you can try rebuilding the index to see if that fixes it:

1. Choose Apple menu  > System Settings.
2. Click Siri & Spotlight in the sidebar, then scroll down and click Spotlight Privacy on the right.
3. Drag the disk or folder that you want to index again to the list of locations that Spotlight is prevented from searching. Or click the add button (+) and select the disk or folder to add.*
4. From the same list of locations, select the disk or folder that you just added. Then click the remove button (–) to remove it from the list.
5. Click Done, then quit System Settings. Spotlight will reindex the contents of the disk or folder. This can take some time, depending on the amount of information being indexed.

Rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac

If the search function still doesn't work after that, you'll want to contact Apple to report the issue: Get Support

Cheers!

Yes, the issue has suddenly surfaced. Never seen this issue earlier. The search was all fine till very recently - even after upgrade to Sonoma. Hence I doubt if it has to do with Sonoma upgrade itself or one of the updates that came out later. Very frustrating when a feature which was always working, suddenly breaks down like this :-(
