Find My in real time

iphone SE. IOS 16.5.1

How do I make Find My work in real time? When I check for a location, it shows 5 or more minutes in the past and then will not update.

iPhone 6s, iOS 13

Hello DL19-,

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. In the Find My app it will state the location of the device with "Now" then transition into minutes or hours from that point forward. Real time is not an available option, unless the device remains on and you refresh the Find My app. If needed, here's more information about Find My: Find your lost Apple device or AirTag with Find My - Apple Support

Best regards.

Hi DL19,

You may want to restart your device as this can refresh iOS, apps and connections. If you've already done that, try updating to the latest version of iOS to see if the issue persists: Update your iPhone or iPad.

"Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly

  1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
  2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
  5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do."

Take care.
