Iphone 14 Pro Max wallpaper black for a second when Always on display is off

I turned always on display off for my iPhone 14 Pro Max as I was having some issues with it, but now that I did, every time I tap my screen to turn it on, my wallpaper is black for about a second but shows the time and my lockscreen widgets before loading my wallpaper in. I did a dfu cleanse recently to take care of some other issues I had but the cleanse did not fix this issue as I had it before. I have attached screenshots of the black screen and what my wallpaper is supposed to look like
