Keeping the top bar visible in apps

How do I set my phone to always keep the time and battery level visible when I'm using it? I still want the phone to go to sleep, and definitely don’t want to set it to Always On. I’m talking about how some apps, especially games, will cover the the top bar, meaning that I have to navigate away from the app to check the time, connection strength, and battery level, which can lead to my phone running out of battery. I want the ability to lock that information to be impossible for apps to hide.

If this is not possible on iPhone settings currently, but anyone knows of an app that will force the status bar to display in all other apps, I am willing to pay for this feature.
