Scam protection
I have a MacBook Pro. More than a year ago, advisor from Apple Support suggested that I install McAffe antivirus protector. I did and have never had a problem until today, when a facebook post turned out to be a scam. I was told to run my anti virus software, and when I did it detected so-called "5 viruses" and recommended I delete McAffe and install Total AV. I did not follow this advice and I have not removed McAffe. I did a little research: There seems to be an online battle about which protection is a scam and which is legit. Do I really need such protection at all? If so, what is a reliable one? Thanks in advance for honest and helpful response. I am not doing anything at the moment as I have not experienced any issues. Thank you
