Snapchat Temporary Lock? Device Lock?
So September 30th, almost a month ago. I got a message saying “Due to repeated failed attempts or other unusual activity, your access to Snapchat is temporarily disabled.” So of course the first thing I do is go to snapchat supports website, and press unlock my account. However when I pressed “unlock my account” I got an error code and still to this day get an error code that says “generic_failure” I’ve sent snapchat support multiple emails, I’ve submitted multiple support tickets- almost everyday since this has happened. I haven’t received one single reply. I even reached out to support on twitter and they wouldn’t help me either. But through my research, I’ve learned it’s probably a temporary lock on my phone. Because I can log into my account from other devices, just not my phone. It's super inconvenient though because it's not often that I have access to another device. I was wondering if there is a way that Apple can reset my device number? Or if they can do something to help me? Because even though it's probably a mess up on snapchats end, they are clearly not willing to help me. I’ve even considered getting a new phone because Snapchat is something I typically would use everyday for communication, work, and school purposes. It’s so unfair. But I’m also too nervous to spend almost $1,000 on a new phone- solely for the purpose of trying to regain access to my account, just to have the same issue again. I can’t really afford to lose my apple id and all of the things that are saved to my icloud. So why would I risk that too? Because now I’m wondering if i’ll have the same issue because maybe if I get a new phone and reuse the same apple id login, will my access to snapchat still be locked. It has been almost a month now and I still haven’t received on bit of help from Snapchat and I’m starting to feel desperate. I’ve tried everything, I made sure I didn’t have any 3rd party apps, I made sure I wasn’t using a VPN, I even cleared up my storage and updated my device to IOS 17.3 to see if that would work. I’ve done everything suggested on every article, even the articles on Snapchat’s website. It’s BEYOND absurd to be how terrible snapchat’s customer service is for such a popular app for communication.
