Transferring Data

I am transferring from an iPhone 8 to an iPhone 13

I was setting up my new iPhone 13 and it got stuck on the software update screen for over an hour I exited out and tried it twice I reached the screen again and it said there was nothing to be found try again or cancel I hit try again then it asked me for my Apple Id and password I put that in it went to the home screen nothing got transferred but my number and Apple Id it seems like it stops and I can only receive calls I feel like if I hit something it will erase everything
