No atmos even no 5.1 sound working, only stereo on apple tv app on android google tv
Tcl p725 tv on android 11, apple tv app version 14.0.1 (latest version). Tv audio is set to passthrough, its connected to samsung q990b soundbar via hdmi cable on arc at both ends.
No 5.1 or atmos sound getting to soundbar from movies or trailers on apple tv app, only stereo available. Prime video app, apple tv on windows machine, local media files are ok with atmos and 5.1 thus there is no problem or compatibility issues with tv and soundbar. Looks like, for some reason apple tv app on google tv cant handle surround sounds, even bare minimum 5.1..
Atv app is up to date, resetting it didnt help. There is not any option to change audio settings on the app at all. Itunes app on windows for instance has an option to enable audio passthrough which does exactly what is needed, passing dolby surround to output device.
This is a serious problem yet its a basic feature every app/device normally provides. Dont know if there is a workaround other than waiting for apple team to update apple tv app on android/google tv?
