My husband and I have iPhones with a shared account. If I lose my phone, we could call it to find. But when we call my phone from his, it goes straight to voicemail. Or, if he's out and about, same thing: straight to voicemail without my phone ringing. How can we call one iPhone from another on a shared account?

Hopefully it means something other than sharing an Apple ID. If you are sharing an Apple ID, stop doing that immediately. Each person, regardless of age, needs her/his own, unique Apple ID.
The person acquiring the new ID should do this immediately after obtaining it:

Then "move in" using that new Apple ID.

"Name" may well refer to Xfinity account name, which is irrelevant here.
What matters is the Apple ID. Check Settings on each iPhone. Tap the name-like item at the very top. It will reveal the Apple ID of the iPhone owner. That's what matters. It must be different for each and every person.
Change your husband's iPhone to his new Apple ID immediately.

The sales rep at the Xfinity store set up my new phone with the understanding that my husband would continue to use the old phone. So I don't know, really, if it's a shared account. I do know that the new phone is in my husband's name and the old one remained in my name.
