If your iPhone 13 calls are going straight to voicemail, check for enabled features like "Do Not Disturb" or "Silence Unknown Callers," and ensure you're not in Airplane Mode or Silent Mode.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of potential causes and solutions:

1. Check for Enabled Features:

  • Do Not Disturb/Focus:
  • Ensure that "Do Not Disturb" or another Focus mode (like "Sleep," "Work," etc.) isn't activated, as it can silence incoming calls and send them to voicemail.
    • How to check: Swipe down from the top right corner of your iPhone, select the Focus option, and ensure it's deactivated.
  • Silence Unknown Callers:
  • This feature, introduced in iOS 13, sends calls from numbers not in your contacts directly to voicemail.
    • How to check: Go to Settings > Phone > Silence Unknown Callers, and make sure it's toggled off (gray).
  • Call Forwarding:
  • Check if call forwarding is enabled, which could be routing calls to another number or directly to voicemail.
    • How to check: Go to Settings > Phone and look for a "Call Forwarding" option, or check your carrier's settings.

2. Check for Other Issues:

  • Airplane Mode/No Service: Ensure Airplane Mode is off and that you have a good network connection.
  • Silent Mode: Make sure your iPhone isn't in silent mode (the ringer switch on the side of the phone).
  • Volume Level: Check that the ringer volume is not set to zero or too low.
  • Blocked Contacts: Ensure the caller's number isn't on your blocked contacts list.
    • How to check: Go to Settings > Phone > Blocked Contacts.
  • Software Update: Check for and install the latest iOS update, as bugs can sometimes cause call-related issues.
  • Carrier Settings: Update your carrier settings, as outdated settings can sometimes cause issues.
  • Force Restart: Try a force restart of your iPhone (hold down the power button and either the volume up or down button, depending on your iPhone model, until the Apple logo appears).
  • Reset Network Settings: As a last resort, you can reset network settings, which will reset Wi-Fi passwords, cellular settings, and Bluetooth pairings.
    • How to reset: Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
  • Contact your carrier: If none of these steps work, contact your mobile carrier for further assistance.
