Cannot import media into Final Cut Pro. It just keeps crashing.

Using Mac mini M2 Pro, macOS Sonoma latest version, and Final Cut Pro also latest.

Cannot import any media. It keeps crashing. There's sometimes an error message that gives a clue. "You don't have permission to save the file xxx in the folder xxx" and "FCP cannot save changes to xxx... The storage location for one or more libraries is no longer available..." But FCP still opens the library, and I can playback the projects.

This is an external SSD connected directly to the rear Thunderbolt port. It's 2TB large containing the Time Machine backup and other media. None of this was any conflict in FCP within macOS Big Sur.

So the problem occurred with either or both Mac mini M2 Pro and/or macSonoma, which I swapped into at same time.

I have indeed turned on File Sharing in Sonoma. I have also checked the Shared Folder checkbox in the Get Info of the 2TB drive.

Still no joy. Oddly, the CFvideo file does show modified today.

What am I missing?

Mac mini, macOS 14.0
