I want to recover my recent call history which disappeared after installing iOS 17. I have tried a full shutdown and restart, turning airplane mode on and off, checking that the clock is on automatic, but none of these measures resolved the issue. Please advise as how to proceed. Thank you in advance for any assistance anyone can offer.

Same problem - after doing an automatic update all my phone call history is gone and now NO calls are showing up in recent after I make them. This is crap - i use it all the time as a call record. Please fix this
I CAN'T BELIEVE the first official response from Apple is to blame the user! The user evidently just allowed the system to upgrade itself. The same thing happened to me. This is a BUG! Please provide a fix or at least, a workaround.
Updated to iOS 17.1.1 on my iPhone 12 last night. All of my Recent Calls log has disappeared.

Odd thing is voicemail history and contacts are all still there.

You can reset your iPhone's network settings if you can't see the call history. Here's how:
Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone.
Tap Reset and select Reset Network Settings from the menu that appears.
Enter your device passcode and tap Reset Network Settings.

Are you saying that deletion of call history is not due to update? Please explain why.

This seems to be catching on. So, report this to Apple.

Update issues are commonly-reported issues on these forums. Question is: "Just how many people have actually reported this to Apple?"
So, do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue. Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.
I have the same problem. As per a few posts, I logged in my provider (t-mobile) and found my phone activity log but just for 22 days from November 2 - today the 25th. So anything before that is totally lost. How do we file a complaint with Apple? or maybe switch to Android? Teach them a lesson.
I accidentally deleted my "all calls" and my "missed calls" call logs and I got them back because I had an icloud backup from today (same day I deleted). What they told me to do and what ended up working is that you need to restore device from an icloud backup. This worked however you need to make sure you DO NOT delete eSIM because you would need to get your phone service re-activated. You have the option to keep this so select that option when it asks before you hit restore. To check your latest icloud backup go to Settings > Apple ID > iCloud>iCloud Backup> scroll down to All Device Backups and it will show when the latest iCloud back up was.

Same here. Tried reset network settings to default setting and still no recent calls. Have VM history. This has to be a bug in Apple’s most recent update. Please advise how to fix.
