Insert preset for Pages.

Hi there, is it possible to create a preset insert for pages on Mac. I need to insert my username in a header on each document. I know I could type it manually but is there a way to create a preset similar to the insert date/time function?? Thanks in advance.

Pages does not feature special variables or "presets".

You create a new Pages document from a blank template. Insert your name where you want it in the header, and then from the File menu : Save as Template… You select Add To Template Chooser and give it a short meaningful name such as name_header. Quit Pages.

The next time you want to use your name in the header, you visit My Templates in the Pages Template Chooser and select the name_header (or whatever name you gave it) for your new document. Your name will be in the header.
