If your Apple TV box has a continuously flashing status light:

1. Try a cold restart, by disconnecting from power for a minute or so. Then reconnect and let it start up again.
2. If that didn’t bring back normal functionality, then the system software may need to be restored. How that is done, depends on the exact model that you have. For the 2015 model or earlier (Apple TV HD (4th generation) or earlier), users can do the software restore themselves, using a computer and USB connection. Restore your Apple TV - Apple Support.
