I’ve been taking photos in full sun and still end up with blotchy colour on the front of my objects. It’s the worst iPhone camera in a long time. I haven’t used my DSLR in so long because I could get away with just using my 13 pro, but not anymore.

Useful tips

Low ISO

Low resolution is good for the screen but it doesn't mean the photo is good

Keep the camera steady, or use a tripod

Focus

If you want to know if the photo is ok do the 200% test if you can magnify to 200% without seeing pixels/grains the photo is fine

In a word a photo looking good on the screen doesn't mean it's good and vice versa

I avoid taking telephotos or use macro in low light, in settings use camera capture most compatible and photo mode12MP, set main camera to x1., btw did you upgrade to IOS 17.2.1?

i think usually camera problem is blue color, mine is blue
