Title glitch when exporting Final Cut Pro videos

I cut a large jazz concert video into individual clips of each the 15 tunes. I used the basic title format "Formal" to place a title and composer at the beginning of each individual clip. I exported these easily to YouTube. However, when I try to export them through Hightail to a producer who's assisting me with the audio, all the tunes momentarily (2 sec.) display a second title in the top LH corner. It will use either the title of the first tune in the show or another random title from the show. The original, correct titles are unchanged. I set my clip ranges very carefully so there is no overlap, yet the problem continues.

After you export the file from FCP, open it in the QuickTime Player and check if it is correct. Apple Devices is not a standard MPEG-4 file, which might cause an issue with other applications. You might try exporting to Computer in Export File. That will allow you to export H.264 and set the export size.

You don't indicate which macOS version or FCP version.

An easy thing to try when FCP behaves strangely is to delete FCP preferences. Hold Option and Command while launching FCP and choose Delete Preferences. It will open the default Untitled library. Re-open the library you were working on, set the Preferences back to the way you like them (disable background rendering, reset Import to Leave Files in Place, etc.) and see if the issue has been resolved.

Do you see the problem in the Apple Devices exported file? Can you post a screenshot that shows the title error?

Can you describe your process to export and share the videos? I am not familiar with Hightail, but it seems to be a file sharing program. It would not do anything to the videos themselves, I'd think, but I am probably missing something.

If the file plays correctly in QuickTime Player, I wonder if the DISCO player is picking up FCP exported metadata attributes?

What app is this screenshot from? This’s what you see in the exported Apple Devices file? Is the X in the upper right supposed to be there?

Try resetting your preferences as Terry suggested.

Sobit seems that the problem lies in the uploading of the file, ie, the file as exported from FCP dor “Apple Devices” does not show this spurious text, right?

Thank you terryb. Sorry about the missing data. I'm using OS 12.6 Monterey, and FCP 10.6.8. I'll wait to hear back from you regarding your suggestion to delete the FCP preferences in case my laptop and FCP versions indicate a different strategy.

Thank you Luis. Early on, I had "snipped" the concert footage as needed, mostly removing dialogue and dead space between the actual performances of each tune. Then I placed a title at the beginning of each tune with the composer's name. When I was ready to export, I selected an individual clip by clicking on it (it was surrounded by the yellow highlighting. I used "Set Range Start" and "Set Range End" making sure there was absolutely no overlap between the clips. I hit the "Share" button and chose Apple Devices 720 (at the request of the producer). FCP rendered that file to a folder I had created for the project. I then opened the file-sharing app called Hightail and dragged the videos into it. I hit SEND. Several times the producer came back to me, showing me screenshots of the titling snafu, not always the same random title. As I mentioned in my original post, using the provided YouTube export settings, I had no problems at all sending the videos to my YouTube channel. BTW, I forgot to mention that I'm using Mac OS 12.6 Monterey and FCP 10.6.8.

The screenshot is from a web-hosting site called DISCO. My producer wonders if there's some imbedded meta-data that YouTube knows to ignore, but DISCO does not ignore. I think it's time for me to try the suggestion that I reset the FCP preferences.

Thank you Tom. The correct title is at the bottom, "Being Alive". The random title is in the top left corner. "Just In Time" is a tune that was performed later in the concert.
