When taking pictures outside the color is NEVER close to how I’m seeing it in real life.

I have a 13 Pro Max and the outdoor photos are awful!! I’ve tried taking a 1-2 second video because the color in a video is so much better, not exact but much better…then pause & take a screen shot, but even the screenshot adjusts the color to darker. I’ve watched so many YouTube videos on what settings to put my camera on & googled for more information but NOTHING seems to help. I’m ready to go buy a digital camera for pictures, but for what I paid for this phone it seems like a descent picture shouldn’t be hard to ask for. Any ideas if there’s a fix for this??

Hi flipflops525,

Just to confirm, is this happening in the Apple Camera app, or another application? If this is happening in the Apple Camera app, is the  Photographic Style set to "Standard," or another option? We ask because the "Standard" option should provide balanced style on photos that is true to life.

We know you mentioned checking some settings, but you can confirm and manage Photographic Styles using the process outlined here, if you haven't already, which may help: Apply Photographic Styles with your iPhone Camera

Choose a Photographic Style

Your iPhone camera is automatically set to Standard—a balanced style that is true to life. To apply a different Photographic Style, do the following:

1. Open Camera , then tap the Camera Controls button.
2. Tap the Photographic Styles button, then swipe left to preview the different styles:
* Rich Contrast: Darker shadows, richer colors, and stronger contrast create a dramatic look.
* Vibrant: Wonderfully bright and vivid colors create a brilliant yet natural look.
* Warm: Golden undertones create a warmer look.
* Cool: Blue undertones create a cooler look.

To customize a Photographic Style, tap the Tone and Warmth controls below the frame, then drag the slider left or right to adjust the value. Tap the Photographic Styles Reset button to reset the values.
3. Tap the Photographic Styles button to apply the Photographic Style.

To change or adjust a Photographic Style that you set, tap the Photographic Styles On button at the top of the screen. To stop using a Photographic Style, select Standard from the style choices.

You can also change Photographic Styles in Settings: go to Settings  > Camera > Photographic Styles.

Thanks!
