Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities! To enable sounds for text notifications, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > Notifications.
- Tap Messages
- Turn on Allow Notifications and select a sound tone
Find more information about managing notifications here: Use notifications on your iPhone or iPad. Make sure that your device is not on silent so that sounds can play: Select ringtones and vibrations on iPhone.
We also suggest checking your Do Not Disturb and Focus settings. Having those settings enabled can stop notifications: How to turn Do Not Disturb on or off on your iPhone.
