Why is spellcheck constantly suggesting misspelled words?

With IOS 17, spellcheck constantly suggests words that are misspelled or that don’t exist for basic words that are often spelled properly. It’s completely dysfunctional.

More importantly, IOS 17 is constantly trying to auto-correct words that are spelled correctly with weird words that don't exist or completely different words. There's nothing wrong with the words I'm texting but they get highlighted and suggestions made to change them.

Found this thread and tried that today but (at least on my phone) that is not a toggle option.

I already have the predictive text toggled off, but nothing seems to exist to disable the weird non-sense words in the bubbles with the back arrow.

This whole issue has been happening since the beginning of iOS 17.

I have entered a bug report as well.

Thanks for the suggestion. I made a Bug Report. No improvement and I spell horribly.

Type with Effort:

When messaging, note that you’re not typing an essay here. But be careful of what you type along with that character you leave out. Texted my boss the other week about shifts and tapped “losers”, instead of “closers” (left out the “c” in closers). Interesting how leaving out a letter can make the post come me across the wrong way.

And it highlights words blue when you’re trying to make a correction between words. You end up having to delete the highlighted words and retype them to make corrections to sentences. What is going on over at Apple. They have long since peaked and I can’t figure out how they would let these issues persist.
