Broken mac book

My computer screen is black but the keyboard is lit up and when i press return a voice says “username”

Black screen mac I have a Mac book air yesterday while I was using it the screen went black and I haven’t been able to get it back on. I can hear the start up noise however the screen never loads how can I fix this?

my macbook has a black screen but the keyboard is lit I was working last night normally, just closed the cover to open this morning to see a black screen. The buttons seem operational normally as they make a sound when I try to use. I turned off by holding the power button for 10 seconds and turned on again but the problem is still the same

Refer to this excerpt from If your Mac doesn't start up all the way - Apple Support:

"Learn what to do if your Mac starts up to a blank screen, such as an empty gray, black, or blue screen."
