2017 MacBook Pro 15" speakers muffled on macOS, but not on Bootcamp Windows 11

My MacBook Pro speakers like most people become muffled when the volume is raised. Not sure if it happens with anyone else but this problem does not exist on my Bootcamp Windows 11 partition.

I actually thought it was the speakers that give a crackling sound at macOS boot startup, but after installing Windows 11 yesterday via Bootcamp, the audio is perfect. Perhaps Apple can figure out the software issue that's causing this problem.
