My IPhone 14 Pro Max front camera suddenly stopped working. After powering the phone off then on, the camera works with a message that it is an “UNKNOWN PART”. And the wide angle option no longer appears. Nothing has been changed on the phone when this occurred. Any ideas how to correct this?

This alert can an appear if the part isn't working as it should or if it was replaced with a non genuine part. It would be best to have iPhone inspected and serviced to correct the behavior. You can contact Apple for options or visit a local Apple Authorized Service Provider.

I visited a certified apple repair store. They said they could order a part and repair it under warranty. There would be a 48 hour window but I was going to be traveling for work so they asked me to come back and restart the process. When they ran the diagnostics a second time the solution was that they need to mail my phone back to Apple for repair. I simply cannot give up my phone for 7 days because as a remote worker that constantly travels my phone is critical.
