Phone doesn’t vibrate anymore on silent mode..

I came to this thread for the same problem on my husband's new 15 pro max. I had all the settings adjusted properly with successful vibrations on silent with alerts from Instagram, Facebook messenger, etc. But when I would text or call him, it would NOT vibrate. I finally found out in his settings for me through his contacts app, there was a custom ringtone with vibration set to "None." After I adjusted that, my alerts to him came through with vibration on silent. Just wanted to add that slight possibility for someone else having issues too.

For dual sim users you need to enable this for both your sims otherwise haptics wont work for both

Changing the hepatic ring tone doesn’t change how the phone vibrates from side to side. The phone doesn’t vibrate in a 360 degrees pattern, it only vibrates side to side, edge to edge. There is no hepatic feedback from the flat surfaces! If the phone is sitting on a flat surface or siting in your pocket, it won’t be heard or felt!!!

Phone wasn't vibrating when getting texts turns out certain contacts had “hide alerts” on. No idea why the iPhone 15 is new but I turn those off and it worked for me afterwards

when you are at the screen to select a ring tone or a notification tone there is a option on the top of the screen “Haptics”, which is given to select a specific style for your current ring tone to active haptic vibration while ringing or getting notifications. After you select a pattern it will activate to run with your current ring tone.

I have had the SAME annoying issue. Nothing works! I’ve checked everything as you have. I depended on my “vibrate” mode for so much. It’s been messed up for so long. Did you ever find a fix? I am glad I didn’t purchase a new phone. I thought that was the issue as well. I have an iPhone 12pro max.

my iPhone is always updated IOS, iPhone 13 promax. I had the same issue about vibration. Thanks to this comunaction board, I could fix some BUT still I cannot have vibration with ringtone at the same time. If it's in the silent mode, it's only vibrate, no sound. If it is NOT silent mode, it has only ringtone. I'd like to have both due to I am half def. Does anyone know how to adjust? or there is no such a thing in recent IOS anymore???

Thank you, this finally solved the problem on my iPhone 15 Pro Max! Now if I can figure out why the phone won't consistently connect to my vehicle through Ford Sync, I'll be perfect! I know, different thread! Anyway, Thanks again, Donald

This is what I needed, thank you! It wasn't that the phone isn't vibrating its that its so quiet. But even still after changing this the vibrations in general are so low now the phone doesn't even move compared to past versions. With my case the phone has to be face down to hear it on the counter vibrating because it has those legs to not lay flat on the camera.

Another note to add: You have to change the haptics for each category, text, ring, voicemail etc because they are individually set to default.

Hello Nicole were you able to fix the vibration problem because mine won’t work even when I press the silent button by the side it doesn’t make any vibration please is this a fault with the iPhone 13promax or is there a solution thanks

I noticed my iPhone vibrates only side-to-side, so it won't vibrate against a surface if it is lying flat. However, if you turn the phone on its edge, it will vibrate against the surface so you can hear it. This is a flaw as nobody stores their phone on its edge when they throw it down on their desk.

I believe the issue is a design flaw. I’ve contacted apple and discussed the issue with them and they have not acknowledged that it’s an issue. The problem is how the phone vibrates. The phone vibrates side to side, and now up and down. If you lay the phone flat on a table it will not make any noticeable vibrations . If you place the phone on its edge, you will hear and see it vibrating like crazy. Because the phone does not vibrate in all directions, you can not feel it vibrate in your pocket. This is definitely a design defect and the phone should be recalled.
