LIVE VOICEMAIL bug found in iOS 17

With Live Voicemail enabled, it prevents a user's custom voicemail greeting from working when someone calls and get their voicemail. It keeps reverting their voicemail back to the default voicemail greeting. No

matter how many times I rerecord and setup my voicemail and my custom voicemail greeting again and save it, it only keeps defaulting to the default voicemail greeting.

Turning off the Live Voicemail feature (new to iOS 17 apparently) is the only way to let my custom voicemail greeting work when someone calls me. I've worked with ATT the past 2 weeks and they can't figure it out

after several hours on the phone and chat with them. They kept resetting my voicemail and saying 'it's working' only for me to set it back up on my end and record new custom greetings only for them not to work. When Live Voicemail is OFF (disabled), only then will my custom voicemail greeting work no matter how many times I set it up again. I think this is an iOS 17 bug.. ATT doesn't even know about it apparently.

I think I solved my problem but with quite a bit of testing, it seems to be directly related to an iOS 17 bug pertaining to Live Voicemail. I wanted to check to see if Apple was aware of it or, at least, report the bug

to Apple. It is very repeatable on my end.

Is Apple aware of this Live Voicemail bug?

I am using 17.0.3 (although 17.0.2 also had the same bug). Before 17.0.2, I was using the last 16.x iOS that Apple signed. This problem started when I upgraded to iOS 17.0.2...and continued to 17.0.3.

No one here in this user-to-user forum would know what Apple is or is not aware of. Nor does Apple read here for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let them know your observations here:

I have the latest update and was unable to change my vm greeting after trying multiple times and my phone verifying the vm was changed when I initially listened after changing it- but when i called from another phone it was my old vm greeting. I was on the the AT&T chat for over an hour and multiple attempts to change it- finally I had to shut off WiFi - turn on cellular data and shut off the live vm (that was the last suggestion ) and then it worked. Very frustrating. They have reassured me that it is now fixed. Maybe shutting off live vm is the solution. My phone is an iPhone 13- and this is the 2nd time it happened. In April I went away thinking my vm was changed and came home to find it was not. My job requires me to have coverage when I am away and cannot have this problem again.

I also have the same issue, first I tried resetting the network settings, it didn’t work. Then now I realize that iOS 17.5.1 is released so I am going to try and update, if that doesn’t work then I don’t know what to do. I have HK CSL and you need an additional subscription for voicemail service, then when I saw this greeting option in live voicemail, I thought it would work. I’ve constantly been getting bumps along the way.

Apple if you could fix this that would be great, thank you.

I haven't seen any other mentions of it on these forums (on which I spend too much time!). So, either it's an unusual bug, or people are just not posting about it. There have been some posts about VM greetings. It may be that they were caused by this but no one put it together. I'll have to pay more attention.

I've pretty much trained everyone I know to text me to find out when it's a good time to call me, so I don't get many calls that go to voicemail. That means I haven't had any chance to test out the feature. And I think I use the default greeting, but I don't really remember.
