LIVE VOICEMAIL bug found in iOS 17
With Live Voicemail enabled, it prevents a user's custom voicemail greeting from working when someone calls and get their voicemail. It keeps reverting their voicemail back to the default voicemail greeting. No
matter how many times I rerecord and setup my voicemail and my custom voicemail greeting again and save it, it only keeps defaulting to the default voicemail greeting.
Turning off the Live Voicemail feature (new to iOS 17 apparently) is the only way to let my custom voicemail greeting work when someone calls me. I've worked with ATT the past 2 weeks and they can't figure it out
after several hours on the phone and chat with them. They kept resetting my voicemail and saying 'it's working' only for me to set it back up on my end and record new custom greetings only for them not to work. When Live Voicemail is OFF (disabled), only then will my custom voicemail greeting work no matter how many times I set it up again. I think this is an iOS 17 bug.. ATT doesn't even know about it apparently.
I think I solved my problem but with quite a bit of testing, it seems to be directly related to an iOS 17 bug pertaining to Live Voicemail. I wanted to check to see if Apple was aware of it or, at least, report the bug
to Apple. It is very repeatable on my end.
Is Apple aware of this Live Voicemail bug?
I am using 17.0.3 (although 17.0.2 also had the same bug). Before 17.0.2, I was using the last 16.x iOS that Apple signed. This problem started when I upgraded to iOS 17.0.2...and continued to 17.0.3.
