Ring Delay with Live Voicemail

When one has feature of LIVE VOICEMAIL (apps>phone>live voicemail with ios17+) as ON, Apple will automatically cut off at 20 seconds the number of rings before going to voicemail. I successfully increased my number of rings before going to voicemail to 40 seconds with my carrier of TELUS by calling the code

**61**my-phone-number*40#

when Live Voicemail is OFF. When Live Voicemail is ON, the ring delay to voicemail is back to 20 seconds.

Please APPLE change Live Voicemail to increase the number of rings before going to voicemail to more than 20 seconds, like to 40 seconds.

20 seconds is often not enough time for me to get to my phone to answer, especially when no message is left. I do love the Live Voicemail feature as ON all the time!! Thank you

iPhone SE, iOS 18

Live voicemail ring duration is dictated by iOS and Apple, it picks up before the carrier and the carrier has no control.

Apple would need to add a configuration for LVM but that would confuse people who don’t have visual voicemail because there would be no way to ensure that LVM picked the call before VVM.

in some countries VVM are still not transcribed despite sitting side by side and looking identical to LVM. They’re very much a different system and there is no configuration.

right now, still, the only way to configure the ring duration is to turn off LVM and then the carrier’s voicemail, visual or not, can handle the call.

YOu'll need to work that out with Telus they determine all of that.
