iCloud Storage

Say that I have 6gb worth of documents and I am paying for a premium subscription that gives me 2 terabytes worth of storage. However on default, you get 5gb icloud storage for free. What would happen if I cancel the premium subscription? Would my files get deleted? What would happen to the files?

Hello sanujarana,

There is a risk of data loss if you downgrade below the storage being used. Per Downgrade or cancel your iCloud+ plan - Apple Support:

Before you downgrade or cancel your iCloud+ plan, first download or remove content that exceeds your new storage amount. To make sure that you don't lose any information, learn how to copy what you store in iCloud.

The posted article outlines how to downgrade if you choose.

Take care!
