Look for "ClearClick Video to Digital Converter 3.0" on Amazon. I've recently used it to successfully capture VHS and Hi-8 tapes to USB flash drive then imported files into FCP to clean up and edit a bit. This version has a large LCD screen so you can see what you're capturing. VHS is via RCA jacks and Hi-8 can offer S-Video for (maybe) a little better quality. An hour of tape results in a 1.5 to 2gb mp4 file. Without a computer you can view the captured files via an HDMI connection to a TV. (I set it to 640x480 to get it the proper aspect ratio for the old tapes.)

Analogue tapes need to be digitised. You need a device between your player and the computer to do this. Something like a Canopus ADVC device.
I have used this device to digitize DV video tapes into FCP: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K3FN5MR?ref=nb_sb_ss_w_as-reorder-t1_k0_1_6&=&crid=3OCX7EXZ3ZP5D&=&sprefix=elgato. It works well is easy to use, and gives excellent results.
Analog tape has to go through a box or camera that will digitize it.
The above link shows a device with HDMI input that may not suit your needs.
Check first if you require RCA connectors.
