I recently noticed a noticeable scratch on the screen of my MacBook Air M2, which appears to have been caused by a small dust particle that was trapped between the screen and the keyboard when I closed the lid. SPILLED NAIL POLISH REMOVER ON 2021 MACBOOK PRO Hi y’all! I spilled nail polish remover (contains acetone) on my 1 year old 2021 mac book pro. i had a keyboard cover, so i do not think a lot of it spilled into the keyboard, but a good amount got into my mousepad. i cleaned it up as fast as i could, i think it was on it for abt 30 seconds, and then turned it off and put it in the tent position to let it drain of any remainder. but i am rly worried that it might cause internal damage and ill have to pay for a brand new one

Hand sanitiser spill on MacBook Hand sanitiser spilled in my bag, and my MacBook Air was inside so now there is some hand sanitiser in the charging ports (USB-C). Also, the corner of the screen is damaged. I tried my best to take the sanitiser out of the ports, but I think there is still some of it inside. I’ve left the MacBook upside down over night in hopes that the rest of it can come out. I have 3 questions: Is there any way I can clean out the ports and ensure all the sanitiser is out? If after a while I put a charging plug in there, could it start a fire or something because of the sanitiser residue inside? Can the sanitiser travel into the logic board and slowly destroy the computer? It was operating fine when it happened, everything was working. I’ve shut it down for now.

If the video on the display is showing a problem, it means the liquid has gotten behind the glass and is affecting the internal panel.... then there is nothing you can do except to have the laptop repaired.

If liquid got into any of the USB-C ports (or other ports), or inside the laptop and touches any electronics, then you will usually end up with a problem at some point in the future as corrosion develops on the electronic & metal components.

You will most likely need to have the laptop repaired. Have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider to examine the laptop to provide you with a repair estimate.
