Hey pjmatelli,
There may be a setting or an issue with the web browser. Since you know the issue doesn't occur when using Google Chrome, you'd want to troubleshoot and check the settings in Mozilla Firefox. We've provided the link to Mozilla Firefox support here: Mozilla Support They're the experts that you'd want to contact for assistance with Mozilla Firefox.
Take care.

Hello pjmatelli,
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We see you have some questions about backspace not working in iCloud, and we'd like to help. Let us know if the following link help with what you're seeing: Resolve issues between iCloud for Windows or iTunes and third-party security software
Regards.
Hi pjmatelli,
We appreciate those additional details. So that we can continue to isolate this issue, are you able to use the backspace key on your PC in other applications or websites? Does backspace work as expected in another app on the iCloud website like Notes?
Also, does this occur on another computer or device you can use to access the iCloud website?
Let's ensure you are following the steps outlined here to add and edit these events on your computer as well: Add and edit an event in a calendar on iCloud.com
Thanks!
Thank you for replying...my issue is with iCloud.com. That is where I do most of my data entry for my calendar and after the recent update, the backspace no longer works when typing in an event. So, if I make a mistake, I have to highlight the mistake and use the delete key.
I checked every component of iCloud.com and all apps allow use of the backspace except the Calendar. I typically use Firefox as my browser. I signed onto iCloud.com from Chrome and the backspace works fine in the calendar. Why would the browser make a difference?
Really? There are two big companies and you are asking the user X to check with the other company?
There are thousands of users working with your product through Firefox.
There should be a better way.
Was the issue reported with Mozilla Support already? If so, can you please provide the link?
Is it a good idea to wait for user X, Y or Z to report the issue? Since this is affecting thousands of users, why don't you (Apple) report the issue directly?
I have the same issue, and have multiple tabs open in Firefox, all of which allow the backspace to work. The other issue is the previous version allowed entering just a number in the start or end time fields (e.g., 3) and it would automatically assume 3:00. That is no longer the case - have to enter the full hour, colon and minutes. I don't think this is a Firefox issue - it's iCloud.
Add me to the list. I've been using Firefox for years and have had no problems with Backspace until the latest iCloud update. I still have absolutely no problems with Backspace in any app other than iCloud.
What did Apple do to make this not work any longer in Firefox, and why is it users' responsibility to tease out the answer from Mozilla one by one?
Thank you, I will check with Mozilla Support.
I have the same issue as pjmatelli, and I use Mozilla Firefox.
PJ, did you get a solution from Mozilla, hoping to find it here rather than reach out to them myself. TYIA!
I have not taken the opportunity to reach out to Mozilla yet - I plan on it in the upcoming days and will post what I find.
