Activity Monitor crashes every time I launch it

Activity Monitor crashes every time I launch it. I don't know if it is since updating to Sonoma or not, since I just bought it. This is my first MacBook, so I am not sure if this is a common error. I saw an older thread with the fix “Delete the com.apple.ActivityMonitor.plist file located in /Users/username/Library/Preferences/ and relaunch Activity Monitor.”

I unfortunately am unable to locate the .plist file.

Any fixes?

I had same issue and it fixed by deleting plist file.

sudo rm -f ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ActivityMonitor.plist

Really? For every little issue the only solution we get from apple experts is to reinstall macOS.

Why do we have to reinstall macOS and go through the painful process every time? We are working individuals and have busy life. Why can't apple experts escalate this issue to higher management and apple can create a software which checks the integrity of all system files and if anything is missing or corrupted. It can replace it.
