Apps in use on a MacBookPro with Sonoma 14.0
Apps auto reveal on the right hand side of the screen as the cursur passes over that area, which in its self is a not unattractive feature. But this impedes use of the scroll down bar which then sits behind the Apps such as Browser, Numbers & Mail etc. Making using websites and Mail problematic.
Q: How can i disable this feature either temporarily or permanently?

What you describe is called the Dock. You can adjust its behaviour in System Settings / Desktop and Dock.
For example you could choose to show it on the bottom or left of the screen rather than on the right. You could have it always visible or not (like you have now). Test the options.

I also have Sonoma and cannot get this behaviour, nor can I find any settings for that. My guess is that you are running some kind of third-party "Finder helper" program, which often has an icon in the right part of the menu bar. Maybe (maybe not) you can spot it in System Settings / General / Login Items.
That’s an interesting thought but I have not loaded any such Programme. This occurred from new. So my assumption is that any and all new MacBookPro hardware would have this feature built into its software.
I understood the Dock was the main App bar, which I have on the Left of my screen.
These Pop-ups are on the right and show only those Apps which are ‘open’.
