Migrating folders from Apple Mail to Google Workplace

I'm about to make the move to Google Workspace with my organization and have been using Apple Mail up to now. I have a pretty extensive folder structure where I've organized all my emails into. Is it possible to move all my emails AND these folders over to Gmail when I migrate over? Or do I have to start from scratch on Gmail and create new folders based on my Apple Mail folder names and do all that sorting again which would be a nightmare...?

Hi JDSoil,

It sounds like you have questions about exporting your mailbox. We know how important this is for you, and we will help get you to the right place for answers. Here is the exporting process:

Export mailboxes
1. In the Mail app  on your Mac, select one or more mailboxes, then choose Mailbox > Export Mailbox.
2. Choose a folder or create a new folder, then click Choose.
3. Mail exports the mailboxes as .mbox packages. If you previously exported a mailbox, Mail doesn’t overwrite the existing .mbox file; it creates a new .mbox file, such as My Mailbox 3.mbox.

This info is located in the Mail User Guide here: Import or export mailboxes in Mail on Mac - Apple Support

You will need to check with Google Workspace support on what they support for mailbox migration: Contact Google Workspace support

Take Care.
