iPhone won't print after iOS 17 update

If you need to get your iPhone to recognize your AirPrint printer, resetting all of your devices in a specific order will reset the Bonjour network, which helps manage printer connectivity.

1. Turn off your printer.
2. Turn off your iPhone.
3. For iPhone X or later: Press and hold one of the volume buttons and side button until you get the power-off slider. Drag the slider to the right. 
4. iPhone SE second and third generations: press and hold the power button until you reach the power-off slider. 
5. Turn off your router by unplugging it for 15 seconds.
6. Reconnect your router by plugging it back in.
7. Turn your iPhone back on. Wait for it to connect to Wi-Fi.
8. Turn on your printer.

This worked for me.

I tried all the suggestions on here and none worked for me.

I tried turning off my VPN and initially that did not work because my iPhone 11 kept turning the VPN back on. Then I found if I tap the "i" in the circle next to VPN, I can shut off the "Connect on Demand" which is what automatically turns it back on. Now I can print using the simple print function but HP Smart program still will not allow me to print. It finds the printer and connects but the PRINT button is greyed out.

It is a temporary half-a$$ed solution and Apple still needs to fix this mess they have created so we can fully use AirPrint printers without shutting off the VPN, and use the manufacturer's apps.

ARE YOU LISTENING, APPLE??? This has been going on since October!! Get your act together!!!

I turned off my router, printer, iPhone and computer. I turned my router back on, then my printer, then my phone and then computer. I am now able to print.

I was having the same issue with my iPhone not printing after IOS 17! I found a solution that worked for me!

I.I completely powered off my iPhone by swiping.closed.

2.Next I turned off my printer.

3.Lastly I unplugged my router for 15 seconds.

1. I then plugged the router back in.
2. turned my iPhone back on.
3. turned my printer on again!

This worked for me! I can now print again from my iPhone!

This worked for my HP printer

Same issue, it resolved for me by powering off my phone then restarting it.

I turned off my printer and iPhone and iPad. Then turned them all on and I can now print as usual

I had the same problem and spent quite a bit of time trouble shooting it. What finally resolved the issue for me was that I had to log into my router and change the wifi channel for the router as there was apparently a conflict with another nearby wifi network (a neighbor perhaps). My internet service provider (Xfinity) had an app where I could login and change the wifi channel from the app.

I have a Canon also and updated the printer firmware. It works fine now.

its not a printer issue... I have several printers and several devices... ONLY the apple devices that have upgraded to 17.xx have the issue 4 different printers from different mfgs... EVERYTHING else works fine. APPLE NEEDS TO FIX THIER SOFTWARE.

I'm now having the same issue after using Printopia since December last year. (I can see the printer on my iPhone and print/PDF to it but nothing happens.) I was able to print from my iOS 17 iPhone to my Sonoma mac Mini until quite recently - I suspect one of the recent iOS or macOS updates has broken something. I've contacted Printopia support.

I tried shutting the modem and everything down before turning them back on. It worked for a while, but I had to uninstall and reinstall my printer to get it to work

I am now up and running with my canon printer and iOS 17. Yesterday-iI reset my printer back to default settings and reset it up. I also took bonjour off and redownloaded. It didn’t work. I also turned off everything (wifi, printer, and iPhone 14) and back on. It didn’t appear to work. Today- I tried printing and now it works. I am not sure what worked.
