M2 Mac Mini and Dolby Atmos with Plex

Hi all! I am planning to retire my late 2008 iMac and buy an M2 Mac Mini with 16 Gb RAM and 512 Gb storage. I get that the non-Pro M2 Mini does not support Dolby Atmos from the HDMI, but if I have a Plex server running on it, can I get Atmos if my main playback device is an Nvidia Shiled TV connected to a 5.1.2 surround system?I did not find any information on this. Appreciate all answers! Thanks!

Hi, FP81, about the only thing a M2 Mac mini will say about that is that it has an HDMI output that supports multichannel audio… per this link : Mac mini - Technical Specifications - Apple (CA)

that usually means Dolby Digital or DTS 5.1 sound, it’ll pass it … you’d have to AsK Plex… go here for that : https://www.plex.tv/en-ca/… looks like the nVidia Shield tv streamer does support Dolby Atmos… per this link : https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/shield/shield-tv/ plus Dolby vision + 4K… so it’s possible
