Sidecar freezing problem with MacOS Sonoma

I've had a really annoying problem since upgrading to MacOS Sonoma regarding screen freeze when using Sidecar. It interrupts the flow of work and is super frustrating.


I spoke to Apple, and they resolved it for me, so I thought I'd share the solution.


You have to reset something called SMC. More info here - Reset the SMC of your Mac – Apple Support (UK)


So, make sure your Mac and iPad have the most up to date versions first.


Then, shut down your Mac. When it has closed down press:

Power, Option, Command, and Shift for 7 seconds. You'll probably get some startup options - choose your normal Boot disk (MacintoshHD, probably). The Mac may restart a few times, but when you finally log back in, it all seems to work perfectly.
