change appearance of background text messages

I have trouble seeing text messages clearly on the white background. Is there any way we can apply a theme or color to make the text more visible. Android phones have great backgrounds that make reading texts so much easier. I have an iphone 13.

Changed background for text messages iPhone 13 Pro Max IOS 16.5.1 All of a sudden, the background for text messages has changed to black, and it's very difficult for me to read print that is white. I've gone to settings - accessibility - display and text and have tried multiple things, but I have not been able to turn it back like it was. I have no idea how this changed, Thanks for any help you can provide.

Perhaps try the black screen for text in iPhone, seems OK for

most everything ~ so long as that doesn't affect brightness.
