How to stop my windows from sliding back and forth

Without doing anything to change my settings my iMac 21.5-inch, 2017, running macOs Ventura 13.6 has suddenly begun shifting windows on my screen. When I open a window, then second window, the first one slides left off the screen. Help!

Control click on the app icon in the Dock— verify you are not locked in to a particular Desktop

Running a 16” 2021 Macbook Pro w/ Sonoma 14.5. Using an additional 21”-24” monitor. If I’m working on an app, (i.e. MS Word or a Browser) and pull in an open application from the side, the previous window slides to the side.
Sure, I can pull it back, resize it, blah, blah. I’d like control of moving these apps and browser windows around vs Apple thinking it’s doing me a favor, which it ain’t….especially if you’re running a Zoom mtg.
Not using Stacks, nor the “Clean-up” feature in View.
BTW - in the image above, options available to me are different:
*Keep in Doc
*Open at Login
*Show in Finder

Thanks,

It looks like you have activated Stage Manager.

You can turn it on in System Settings->Desktop & Dock:
