Unable Review the request from child

I have family sharing enabled and in the past any time my kids make a request to download/install an app the request comes to the parent. In order to allow the child to download the app you press "Review the request". In the past I've pressed this and it would take me to the App Store and I can allow or deny the request. Now pressing does nothing. I noticed while flicking between apps I see the "Review the request" call to action (CTA) disappears and a message saying "sign in with the Apple Id you use for Family Sharing" is shown instead. This actually then disappears in a fraction of a second reshowing the Review the request CTA.

I made sure that I was signed in with my Apple ID. The same email appears on all services, Books, Music, Podcasts, App Store, iCloud, settings etc. I logged out and signed in again and nothing. The exact same I did on my iPad and it's the exact same - just doesn't work.

My wife however can review the request and she can approve/deny without any issue. I mean what the ****? We're all running the latest versions of iPadOS/iOS (17.0.3).

It's so frustrating. Any ideas?

I’m now running 17.2.1. However it started working in 17.1, for me at least. I’m not convinced it’s working correctly as I’ve authorised a request but my daughter has to request it again as she’s not told I’d already authorised it. Glitchy. Very glitchy.

With 17.2.1 I’m able to get this working.

However given the inconsistency of everyone’s experience, I’d suggest contacting Apple support and explaining how it works for some and not for you. Sadly it could be fixed by a quick restart or a factory reset. Hopefully it’s not the latter.

I’m having this issue too, any fix yet?

I’ve found sometimes I, or my child have to send the request up to 5-6 times to get the review link to open…

As it worked in the past without any issues, when did this start on your two devices?
What exactly did you mean by 'Call to action', and what specific actions are you performing to see the message 'Sign in with the Apple ID you use for Family Sharing' for a very short while? The more details you provide, the better we'll understand what it is that you meant.
Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone and Restart your iPad

It's odd - since updating to 17.1 I've had some success - if you want to call it that. I can approve one of my kids request but with the other I'm still having trouble. I get the same message about signing in with the Apple ID used for family sharing.

As far as I can tell they haven't fixed it. Typical Apple totally silent.

No idea. I haven’t had any app requests from my kids since I got the iPhone 15 Pro Max. So if I were to guess a few weeks perhaps a month.
In the picture the black arrows point to the call to action. I’m a software engineer so I called it a CTA. Something that requires for action from the user. You can see in the screenshot that I managed to capture the message that appears for a few short seconds saying “sign in” before it changes to “review the request”.
Yeah that does nothing. Also the fact that the same happens on iPad and iPhone indicates an actual problem.

Not completely resolved. I am able to approve requests from my daughter but wasn’t able to do so with my son. I’ve had to approve the requests on the device itself.

It’s annoying that it hasn’t been addressed. I’m running 17.1 across all the devices.

I am also having this exact problem. My wife can approve requests but I cannot. The “Review the request” button doesn’t do anything on my phone. We have tried renaming both my daughter’s phone and mine, as per one of the other thread’s suggestion, but it still doesn’t work. I am on iOS 17.0.3.

Updated to iOS 17.2.1 and still having this issue. It works for my son's requests but not my daughter's. It worked on both before but not always.

Fix it please Apple. It seems that the "specialists" here have no idea and they don't try to repeat the issue on their devices to test.

I’ve begun having this problem as of a few weeks ago as well, post-upgrade to iPhone 15 Pro / iOS 17.0.3, but I’m a single-parent approver.

I have the exact same problem. Got iPhone and iPad running latest os.

i download app and trigger request, I recover the request and click to review it and nothing happens..
