iPhone/IOS/CardDav Issue: Does not fetch new contacts..

When you choose a 3rd party CardDav server as your primary account, if you turn off 'push', and try to use 'fetch' instead, why does it not fetch new contacts that were created on the 3rd party carddav

Deleted all Contacts on IPhone XR when deleted cardDAV account I had never signed up for cardDAV account but I would get a message asking for cardDAV password every time I added or changed a Contact. So after some online research, I deleted the cardDAV account in Settings-contacts. This deleted all the Contacts on my IPhone as well. Would really appreciate it if someone could advise how to recover them. I don't have a server name or account name for card DAV account. I am assuming I can use my GMail sign in as the ID and password. Thank you in advance for your help.

CardDAV message with Contacts updates Hello, two questions actually. every time I update my contacts, I get an error message that pops up about Google CardDAV Incorrect password. Are my Google contacts and the Contacts on my iPhone separate? Eek. I followed an online suggestion on going to settings and under mail, contacts, etc. “adding account” but didn’t know what to enter as the Server. who can advise? I just want to make sure that my contacts are backed up. And is there a way to share/merge Google contacts and iphone app contacts?

"CardDAV account verification failed" error on iPhone after iOS 18.4 update iOS 18.4 appears to have ended CardDav support. Since upgrading to 18.4 my iPhone no longer shows contact names in Messages and "Google CardDav Accounts" in Settings shows "Contacts Account CardDav account verification failed OK". Alternatively on the "Contacts Accounts" page a pop up box shows "Password Incorrect Enter the password for the CardDav account 'Google CardDav Contacts". The password entered is correct. Consequently Messages are beginning to show phone numbers instead of names. 'Recents' in the phone app shows only phone numbers with small fonts beneath saying "Maybe: [Name of caller in Contacts]. 'Contacts' in the phone app shows 'No Contacts'. Will Apple be fixing this or is CardDav permanently removed as a feature? [Re-Titled by Moderator]
