Hello ~ Yes…it could. Are you having issues?

*What should I do if my iPhone gets wet?
Make sure that your iPhone is dry before opening the SIM tray.
To dry your iPhone, tap it gently against your hand with the Lightning or USB-C connector facing down to remove excess liquid. Leave your iPhone in a dry area with some airflow. Placing your iPhone in front of a fan blowing cool air directly into the Lightning or USB-C connector might help the drying process.
Don't dry your iPhone using an external heat source or insert a foreign object, such as a cotton swab or a paper towel, into the Lightning or USB-C connector.
Your iPhone can warn you if there's liquid in the Lightning or USB-C connector when you connect a cable or an accessory to your iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, or later. Learn what to do if you see a liquid-detection alert on your iPhone.

Hi Pratham
Your iPhone14 will not be harmed from wet hands! No way! I've dropped iPhone 7 and 13s into actual water with no issues.
Over a year ago, I watched a woman at the beach using her iPhone 12 bare, no case, to film the water and surf where she repeatedly placed her phone into and under water while video recording. I went up and asked if she had any issues with water damage and she no. She lived near the beach and loved making movies and had been doing it for about a year. Much braver than I am, but it removed my own doubts about iPhone water resistance.
So many stories, YouTube videos… where iPhones survived for long periods of time underwater and found still working.
The iPhone 14 water resistance is rated for up to 6 Meters and 30 minutes underwater.
Get a waterProof case.
Seriously, wet hands are not a problem.
Hope this Helps, Greg

A single drop in the wrong interior location can potentially disable the phone.
That said, iPhones are water-resistant.
Hopefully that resistance protects you … this time. 🤞
None of us can say with any authority - a physical inspection by an Apple-qualified tech would be necessary for that - but Katana-San provided you with the Gold-Standard of mitigating actions.
I’d only add to ensure that your device’s backups ARE in good order. (something which is ALWAYS good to do)
I only held my iphone with wet hands which was beach water near the mute switch.
Hello ~ Why would you need a waterproof case if your information is correct?
