Hi! Since I upgraded to ios 17 my phone app shows that it takes most of my storage 3.12 gb to be exact. This is clearly a bug or something is wrong with my phone. I checked other discussions on the apple communiy and other users noticed it too.
No reply on how to fix it though. Do you have any idea why is this happening and how to fix it? Cheers

What I meant is that in comparison to all the other apps (including heavy ones like Facebook and WhatsApp) , the phone app is the biggest one at 3.12 gb and for no logical reason. Back when I was on ios 16, the phone app did not take as much storage as now. This is peculiar and I can't find a logical reason for that to happen.

It’s 37.66 GB for me!
my phone app had increased to over a GB…I contacted an apple agent…his advice was to delete my vpn app…I did…it did not immediately help but he told me to give it time…I turned the phone off overnight and back on the next morning and the issue was resolved…downloaded the adblocker-vpn again and everything is fine…he had told me to download it again…hope this works for others
3.12 GB is not a lot of data on an iPhone. That is far from most of your storage. The smallest capacity iPhone has 128 GB, so 3.12 GB is just about 2% of the phone’s capacity.
