How can I transfer movies in itunes on my macbook pro to iphone

I have an older MacBook Pro (Intel CPU) running MacOS 10.14.3 (Mojave). When I launch iTunes app on the MBP, and look at my Library - Home Videos, I have many videos that I would like to upload / transfer to my iPhone 14. I connect my phone to MacBook via USB Lightning cable, but iTunes on the MBP does not "see" my iPhone, so I can't upload anything.

The videos I want to upload play just fine on my MBP, they are m4v files.

Is there any way to do this? I had been able to do this when I had my iPhone 7 and this same MacBook, same MacOS version.

The Technical Specifications for the iPhone 15 (which shipped with iOS 17) say that you can sync to a Mac that is running macOS Mojave 10.14.6 using iTunes 12.9 or later.

The OP is running Mojave 10.14.3. Perhaps, if the iPhone 14 is running iOS 17, the Mac needs a minor update from Mojave 10.14.3 to 10.14.6 before it will "see" the iPhone.

Ok, I was finally able to upgrade to MacOS 10.14.6 and that did resolve the probloem. I was able to see my iPhone14 from iTunes, and sync my videos to my phone.

Try these steps:

If your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

BTW, what iOS version Is on your iPhone 14? It may require a newer version of iTunes/Music (which may also require a newer version of MacOS).

If you are running 10.14.3 and there is a 10.14.6, you can almost certainly upgrade to it. That’s just a point release, but might be a necessary one in this case.

My iPhone 14 is running iOS 17.0.3.

My MacBook is old enough that it won't run anything newer than its current MacOS - 10.14.3.
