MacBook Pro M1 Touch Bar acting on its own

Touch Bar of MacBook Pro m1 2020 model acting up on its own. Restarting the Touch Bar server and the Control Strip processes helps for "some time only".

Had taken this up with Apple support (app) case Id: #102109151788 (https://getsupport.apple.com/caselookup/details)

After going through elaborate and all the possible steps, they recommended visiting the nearby authorised store. I went and it was suggested to me to get the board changed, which would cost me INR 52,500. I had bought the laptop not very long ago for INR 1,43,000.

I am just out of warranty, and don't have extended (bought) warranty that Apple sells.

My problem is, none of the support guys could pin point the problem and there's absolutely no apparent problem at all, as everything else works fine. One day, the Touch Bar started behaving erratic, and that's that.

It seems unfair to ask me to pay hefty amount when the issue remains undiagnosed. The issue seems to be a result of some manufacturing/Apple software defect, hence not having extended warranty or just-expired warranty seems like a lame excuse for not helping out.

Please help!

Touchbar issues are typically hardware. Nothing can be done on line here.

Take it in if you want it repaired

By the way, I took it in for “hardware issue” to the store recommended by Apple support, they couldn’t tell me what the problem was; and suggested changing the board as a resolution.

Please re-read. I am being asked to pay a hefty amount and I don’t know why, neither do your “geniuses”.

I hope you can understand how frustrating this can be from customer’s point of view.
