Other party can’t hear me on speakerphone iPhone 14

Yes, I finally solved my issue, no thanks to Genius Bar or anyone at Apple.

Try switching “mic isolation” mode in the control center and setting it to “standard”. That worked for me. If yours is already set to standard then maybe trying switching it around and see what happens. Hope this helps.

Place a call to any number. As soon as it rings on the other end, open control center and you will see “mic isolation mode”. Make sure it’s set to “standard” and not “isolation”.

My son just helped me fix mine. You have to swipe down from the top right corner, then the control centre should show up. My phone was on Standard mic, I changed it to isolation, then back to Standard. Now it works.

Make a call to anyone or better yet a business that's closed but it really doesn't matter. As it's ringing, put the phone on "speakerphone", then swipe down from the top of the iPhone to open control center. On the top of the screen on the right side it will either say "mic mode standard" or "mic isolation mode". If it's set to "mic isolation", that's the problem. If it's set to "mic mode standard", then it's another fix that I am not aware of.

I have the exact same issue. The mic that is used for speakerphone and Siri doesn't work but recording a video front and rear does have audio working. I upgraded to iOS 18 to see if it was a iOS 17 bug but it's the same. Probably a hardware issue. I won't buy apple again.

set your mic in standard mode.

B. Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.

1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread
4. Proceed from there as necessary

Did you try switching to mic standard mode or have you resolved the issue? If you haven’t resolved it go back-and-forth between mic standard and mic isolation once or twice. That has worked for some.

when you are in call slide down the control panel right side top corner mic standard will be there click on that options will show in that mic isolation you can see ok.

note: if i tried like that also my problem not solved

mic isolation was culprit Thanks no one knows this!

I have the same problem on my iPhone14 plus but cannot find “mic isolation” anywhere….

can you guide me through this?

I tried making a call and when it rang I went to settings and typed in mic isolation mode… could not find it.

Apple ended up sending me a brand new phone because they could not solve the issue. I was pretty upset when I figured out how to solve it and Apple tried to gaslight me saying it was my carrier. I told Apple the solution should be handed down to all advisors. this was six months ago, obviously Apple not listening and doesn’t care.
