The front camera takes lots of time to focus, even though there is enough light, etc. Today I noticed that the portrait mode does not work on the front camera. When I'm taking a selfie everything looks okay, but when I look at the photo in the gallery - it looks like a regular photo without any depth as it is supposed to be. Any help will be much appreciated.

Are you able to adjust the depth in post using these steps:
"Adjust Depth Control and Portrait Lighting
After you take a photo in Portrait mode, you can adjust the level of background blur and the intensity of Portrait Lighting effects.
at the top of the screen to adjust Depth Control or Portrait Lighting button
to adjust Portrait Lighting. A slider appears below the photo.Additional details can be found here: Use Portrait mode on your iPhone

Wait for 1 month approximately it will happen again. I restored my phone twice and it happened twice after a month or so.
Same issue I’m facing. I’ve also updated to the latest iOS17.2.1 but the front portrait camera isn’t working.
Any one give me how to fix this problem
No fixes in 17.3.1 as well.

This is not a permanent solution. I have done it and the problem persists
I also having the same problem only after 1 month of usage even on the 17.4.1 update. And need to do a factory reset only after one month of usage. Disappointed with apple.

Add me to the list. Stopped working a month or so ago. Phone is only 6 months old. Did the settings reset which is a pain and that did not correct the issue.
